Furukawa communicates with children from space
NAGANO, Japan - Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa at the International Space Station (on screen) communicates via satellite circuit with a patient at a children's hospital in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture, on June 23, 2011. Furukawa, also a doctor, communicated with 11 patients aged 7 to 17 at the hospital during the event which connected the ISS and a medical facility in Japan for the first time.
