Renho leaves ministerial post
TOKYO, Japan - Renho, minister for government revitalization, leaves the prime minister's office in Tokyo on June 27, 2011. Renho left the ministerial post the same day, as Kan wanted to name Goshi Hosono minister in charge of dealing with the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Kan's Cabinet already had 17 ministers, the legal limit, so bringing a new member into his Cabinet without taking legislative action required one of the existing ministers to step down from the posts.
