Japanese-Filipino's reunion with father

NAHA, Japan - Pacita Okuma (R), a 69-year-old second-generation Japanese-Filipino, lays her hand on the shoulder of Manzo Okuma, her 95-year-old Japanese father, at Naha airport in Okinawa Prefecture on Aug. 6, 2011. The father, who immigrated to the Philippines before World War II and married a local woman, was reunited with his daughter for the first time in 66 years after he was deported to Japan after the war.

Mourners offered silent prayer at 10:12 p.m., the time the first torpedo fired by a U.S. submarine hit the 6,754-ton ship.
