'Loach' aphorism mentioned by Noda
TOKYO, Japan - Kazuhito Aida, the son of popular aphorist Mitsuo Aida and director of the Mitsuo Aida Museum, holds a copy of his late father's book ''Okagesan'' in Tokyo on Aug. 30, 2011. Aida shows a page on which is written the aphorism ''A loach does not have to emulate a goldfish,'' cited by Japan's incoming Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda. Noda compared himself to the loach, an unspectacular bottom-dwelling fish.
