Palfrey, who is trying to achieve solo-swimming across the seven major channels in the world, conquered the Japanese channel, her sixth, on the following day, leaving only one more to go to accomplish the feat called the ''Ocean's Seven.'' Chris Palfrey attempted to cross the Tsugaru Strait via a different route but failed to complete the swim.
