Noda tells Obama Japan-U.S. alliance at core of diplomacy
NEW YORK, United States - Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda (L) and U.S. President Barack Obama shake hands before their meeting in New York on Sept. 21, 2011. Noda, who took office in early September, held his first face-to-face talks with Obama and said the long-standing alliance between the two countries is the linchpin of his new government's diplomatic policy.
