Japan quake-hit city desires pandas to be leased

The mayor of the city, which was hit hard by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, reiterated in a meeting with the ambassador the city's request for China to lease giant pandas to the city-run Yagiyama Zoological Park to cheer up local children affected by the disaster. The city made the request to the Chinese government earlier.
