Coalition partner chief Kamei urges Noda not to join TPP talks
TOKYO, Japan - Shizuka Kamei, head of the People's New Party, the coalition partner of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, heads for a meeting with DPJ President and Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Nov. 8, 2011. Kamei asked Noda to decide against Japan joining negotiations for a U.S.-backed Pacific free-trade agreement, called the Trans-Pacific Partnership, just days before the Japanese leader is expected to make a decision on the matter.
