Taiwan presidential election
NEW TAIPEI, Taiwan - A supporter of Tsai Ing-wen, chairwoman of Taiwan's opposition Democratic Progressive Party, cries in New Taipei City on the night of Jan. 14, 2012, after hearing the early returns from the island's presidential election the same day. Taiwan's ruling Nationalist Party declared victory for incumbent President Ma Ying-jeou over his main challenger Tsai, with over half of the ballots counted.
