Suu Kyi receives UNESCO award

YANGON, Myanmar - Ryuhei Hosoya (L), executive director of the Office of the UNESCO Director General, hands a trophy to Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung Sang Suu Kyi in Yangon on Feb. 10, 2012. Suu Kyi was chosen as the 2002 winner of the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence, but had been unable to receive the award as she had been under house arrest on and off from 1989 to 2010.
