Paralympics returns to country of its birth
LONDON, Britain - Georgina Friend (R), a sports therapy worker, plays basketball with patients from Stoke Mandeville Hospital at a local gym on March 21, 2012 in Stoke Mandeville, a small town in the British countryside. Stoke Mandeville Hospital was the site of a competition for disabled athletes held in 1948 which is recognized as the precursor to the Paralympic games.
