Summer-like hot day in Japan

The Japanese archipelago experienced summer-like heat the same day, with temperatures reaching 30 C at some observation points in western areas for the first time this year, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. In Tokyo, the high was 24.3 C, a temperature usually observed in late May.
