Japan, Pacific islands summit
NAGO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda (C) and other Pacific island leaders offer a moment of silence in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture, on May 26, 2012, for the victims of the March 2011 quake and tsunami. Japanese and Pacific island leaders agreed on strengthening ties in maritime and disaster fields, with Tokyo promising to make efforts to provide aid of up to $500 million over the next three years, as they wrapped up their two-day summit in Nago.
