Mihama reactor

TOKYO, Japan - File photo from November 2011 shows the No. 2 reactor (front) and No. 1 reactor (back) of the Mihama nuclear power plant in Fukui Prefecture. Japan's nuclear safety agency plans to conclude that Mihama's No. 2 reactor is safe enough to operate beyond 40 years, the period of operation at which mandatory safety assessments for age-related factors must be carried out, sources close to the matter said on June 6, 2012.
