Japan regains nuclear power supply
OSAKA, Japan - A monitor at Kansai Electric Power Co.'s central power feeding direction center in Osaka shows the No. 3 reactor at the company's Oi plant in Fukui Prefecture has begun generating electricity, at 7:13 a.m. on July 5, 2012. Japan regained supply of nuclear-generated electricity when the reactor was connected to the generator and transmission grid, with all other reactors in the country remaining idled for prolonged checkups in the wake of last year's Fukushima nuclear crisis.
