Yamamoto wins Yamaguchi gubernatorial race
YAMAGUCHI, Japan - Shigetaro Yamamoto raises flowers received after his victory in the Yamaguchi gubernatorial election, in the city of Yamaguchi on the night of July 29, 2012. During campaigning, Yamamoto said he would suspend a plan to build a nuclear plant in the western Japan prefecture, while his main rival Tetsunari Iida called for the plan to be scrapped in the wake of the nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi complex.
