Energy management system in "smart city"

KASHIWA, Japan - Photo taken May 17, 2012, shows a monitor set up in a community center at Kashiwa-no-ha campus city in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, that shows real-time data on electricity consumption, power generated by solar panels and power supply from the local utility. The system adopted by the smart city is aimed at efficiently managing energy to power the community.
