27th anniversary of JAL jet crash
UENO, Japan - Family members toll a bell on Aug. 12, 2012, in front of a memorial for the victims of the 1985 JAL jumbo jet crash at the mountain accident site, known as Osutaka Ridge, in the village of Ueno, Gunma Prefecture, on the 27th anniversary of the accident. The crash, the worst single-aircraft accident in aviation history, claimed 520 lives.
