Lower house adopts resolutions on Takeshima, Senkaku

TOKYO, Japan - Japan's lower house adopts a resolution Aug. 24, 2012, criticizing the landing of Chinese activists on the Japan-administered Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. The House of Representatives also adopted the same day a resolution in protest at South Korean President Lee Myung Bak's recent visit to disputed islets in the Sea of Japan, known as Takeshima in Japan and Dokdo in South Korea, and his comments concerning the Japanese emperor.
