Lower house adopts resolutions on Takeshima, Senkaku
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda returns to his seat in the House of Representatives on Aug. 24, 2012, after the adoption of a resolution in protest at South Korean President Lee Myung Bak's recent visit to disputed islets in the Sea of Japan, known as Takeshima in Japan and Dokdo in South Korea, and his comments concerning the Japanese emperor. The House of Representatives also adopted the same day a resolution criticizing the landing of Chinese activists on the Japanese-administered Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea.
