NAHA, Japan - The Japan Coast Guard patrol ship Aso leaves a port in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, on Sept. 18, 2012, for waters near the Japan-controlled Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, which are claimed by China, where they are referred to as the Diaoyu Islands. Chinese marine surveillance ships entered the contiguous zone near the islands the same day.
