Noda retains DPJ leadership
TOKYO, Japan - (From L to R) Former agriculture minister Michihiko Kano, former internal affairs minister Kazuhiro Haraguchi, former agriculture minister Hirotaka Akamatsu and Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda bow after ending their speeches ahead of the presidential election of the Democratic Party of Japan at a Tokyo hotel on Sept. 21, 2012. Noda easily defeated his three challengers in the election, remaining as Japan's premier despite low public support for the DPJ and the possibility he may be forced to dissolve the House of Representatives soon.
