Johjima, MLB's 1st Japanese catcher, to retire
OSAKA, Japan - Hanshin Tigers catcher Kenji Johjima leaves a Hanshin ballpark in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, western Japan, on Sept. 28, 2012. Johjima, the first Japanese player to catch in the major leagues, will retire at the end of the season, sources said the same day.
