Osprey opponents block gates of Futenma air station
GINOWAN, Japan - Photo shows the Nodake gate of the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture on Sept. 29, 2012, blocked by cars parked in front of the gate by local residents in an attempt to block the gate and prevent the planned deployment of the controversial MV-22 Osprey aircraft at the base. Okinawa residents blocked all three gates to the airbase, halting all vehicle traffic into and from the base ahead of the scheduled transfer of 12 Ospreys.
