U.S. Marines begin operating Osprey aircraft in Okinawa
GINOWAN, Japan - People protest against the deployment of the MV-22 Osprey transport aircraft at the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture, on Oct. 4, 2012. The Marine Corps began to operate the same day the Osprey tilt-rotor planes deployed at the Futenma base, located in a densely populated area, amid lingering local opposition to the deployment.
