Erroneous gate operation at Narita airport

NARITA, Japan - Many passengers queue in the departure lobby of Terminal 2 at Narita airport near Tokyo on Oct. 22, 2012. An erroneous gate operation at the airport left arriving passengers free to enter a departure area without immigration and customs clearance for about half an hour that morning, causing a temporary halt in security checks in the departure lobby.
