Water-discharge drill at Shirakawa-go World Heritage site
GIFU, Japan - Columns of water are discharged over traditional thatched houses at the World Cultural Heritage site of Shirakawa-go in the central Japan prefecture of Gifu during an annual drill to prevent fire on Nov. 4, 2012. Shirakawa-go is known for its houses constructed in the "gassho-zukuri" architectural style.
