BOJ introduces 2% inflation target
TOKYO, Japan - (From L) Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa, economic and fiscal policy minister Akira Amari and Finance Minister Taro Aso sit side by side at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Jan. 22, 2013, before meeting Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to brief him on a joint statement adopted by the government and the BOJ. In the joint statement, the BOJ pledged to achieve a 2 percent inflation target at the earliest possible time.
