"Hiroshima Maiden" Yamaoka dies
TOKYO, Japan - File photo taken in 2004 shows Michiko Yamaoka, one of the "Hiroshima Maidens" who survived the 1945 atomic bombing of the city and underwent reconstructive surgery for facial burns in the United States from 1955. Yamaoka died of pneumonia on Feb. 2, 2013, at a Hiroshima nursing facility for the elderly. She was 82.
