BOJ chief to step down early

TOKYO, Japan - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa attends a meeting of a government panel at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Feb. 5, 2013. Shirakawa said the same day he will step down as head of the central bank on March 19, before his term expires on April 8.
