Animal protection activist in Fukushima no-go zone
TOMIOKA, Japan - Animal protection activist Naoto Matsumura throws a stone into the sea near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant (back), in the town of Okuma, Fukushima Prefecture, on March 11, 2013, the second anniversary of the tsunami-induced disaster. Matsumura has stayed in the town of Tomioka in the prefecture, within the no-go zone around the crippled nuclear plant, to care for cattle and other animals whose owners and caretakers left in mass evacuations due to high levels of radiation.
