Trade in 5 shark species restricted
KESENNUMA, Japan - Shark fins are being dried in the sun in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan, on March 14, 2013. Japan failed in a final attempt to prevent five commercially valuable shark species from being listed under restricted trade rules of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora during a CITES conference in Bangkok the same day.
