Local rail, bus cards usable across cities

TOKYO, Japan - Officials of eleven major Japanese transport authorities line up with characters seen on 10 regional electronic fare cards operated by the authorities during a ceremony at JR Tokyo Station on March 23, 2013. The cards became mutually usable in all their operating areas in Japan, enabling holders to travel through Japan's key cities across the country with one card.
