Chinese ships converge near Senkakus

ISHIGAKI, Japan - Aerial photo taken by Kyodo News shows the Chinese maritime surveillance vessel Haijian 50 (front) and the Japan Coast Guard patrol ship Motobu sailing in Japan's territorial waters near Uotsuri Island (back), part of the Japan-controlled Senkaku Islands, claimed by China, in the East China Sea at 9:52 a.m. on April 23, 2013. Eight Chinese maritime surveillance vessels entered Japanese territorial waters the same day around the Senkaku Islands, the Japan Coast Guard said.
