U.S. LNG exports
FREEPORT, United States - Photo taken in March 2013 shows a shipping base for liquefied natural gas in Freeport, Texas, that will be used to ship the gas to Japan. The United States said on May 17, 2013, it will allow exports of domestically produced LNG to Japan and other countries to which it is not bound by free trade agreements, authorizing the plan to deliver shale and other gases from Texas.
