Japanese becomes oldest person to conquer Mt. Everest
KALA PATTHAR, Nepal - A mountain climbing team led by Yuichiro Miura approaches the summit of Mt. Everest at 8:23 a.m. on May 23, 2013. The team reached the summit around 9 a.m., making Miura, an 80-year-old Japanese climber, the oldest person in the world to scale the 8,848-meter mountain.
