Russia gives Japanese scientist energy prize

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia - Japanese scientist Akira Yoshino (L) is awarded the 2013 Global Energy Prize by Russia in a ceremony in St. Petersburg on June 21, 2013, for his development of the lithium ion battery technology widely used in cellphones and electric vehicles.
