Gov't panel calls for judo chief to step down
TOKYO, Japan - Haruki Uemura, chairman of the All Japan Judo Federation, is surrounded by reporters at the Cabinet Office in Tokyo on July 23, 2013. Uemura received there a report from the Public Interest Corporation Commission the same day, in which the government panel in effect calls for Uemura to step down to take responsibility for a scandal involving the federation's misappropriation of funds.
