Japan, China experts discuss bilateral relations
BEIJING, China - Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda (L) and Zhao Qizheng, former minister of China's State Council Information Office, join hands at a forum in Beijing on Oct. 27, 2013. The two-day forum, attended by Japanese and Chinese experts, ended the same day after the release of a joint statement, titled "Beijing Consensus," which stressed the urgent need for bilateral dialogue to ease tensions over Japan-controlled islands claimed by China in the East China Sea.
