German fugitive turns himself in

SENDAI, Japan - Photo taken Nov. 14, 2013, shows a police box in Miyagi Prefecture where Petro Vladimirovic Shchus, a 25-year-old German national, turned himself in earlier in the day. Shchus ran away from a police station in the prefecture the previous day while being questioned about his alleged assault on two employees at a local hotel on Oct. 30.

                      USPS Worker Fatally Stabbed At A Deli In Harlem Manhattan New York City

                      A USPS postal worker is stabbed to death in a deli while working in Harlem, Manhattan, New York, United States, on January 2, 2024. On Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:38 PM, police respond to a 911 call for an assault inside 168 Lenox Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observe a 36-year-old male victim identified as Ray Hodges with multiple stab wounds on the body. EMS responds and transports the man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he is pronounced dead. A 24-year-old female, Jaia Cruz, is arrested and charged in the case.
