      Onward Personal Style (Minato-ku, Tokyo) has entered the women's made-to-order shoe business and has started selling shoes on order at its Women's Omotesando Store (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) and Osaka Honmachi Store (Chuo-ku, Osaka). Forty-four types of materials are available, including suede and genuine leather, and customers can apply for the second and subsequent pairs through the website. The second and subsequent pairs of shoes can be ordered through the website, and they are manufactured at a dedicated factory in Japan with which the company has a contract. When customer data is received from the store, the factory uses CAD and CAM to automatically cut the fabric and complete the product. By delivering the products directly from the factory to the customer, the company has been able to reduce costs and shorten delivery times.
