Takanashi ready for Sochi Winter Olympics

SAPPORO, Japan - Sara Takanashi, a 17-year-old who won last season's women's ski jumping World Cup, speaks to reporters in Sapporo on Jan. 8, 2014, one day after she was chosen as a member of the Japanese delegation for next month's Sochi Winter Olympics. The women's ski jumping event will be held for the first time at the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Neither medal is officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Nepal makes its first Paralympics debut at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, sending Nirmala Gyawali in the women's shot-put event.
