Non-Ainu high school girl becomes Ainu dancer
KUSHIORO, Japan - Photo taken Feb. 6, 2014 shows Ayaka Ono, an Ainu dance performer, holding the stringed Tonkori, one of the indigenous ethnic group's traditional musical instruments. Despite not being an Ainu, Ono decided to become a performer of the traditional Ainu dance in the spring of 2013.
