Kirin ramps up production ahead of sales tax hike

TOKYO, Japan - Kirin Brewery Co.'s Toride plant in Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, ramps up its production of beer and other beverages, as seen on March 3, 2014, in anticipation of increased demand before the consumption tax rate will be raised to 8 percent from the current 5 percent in April.
