Sightseeing train resembling Shinkansen bullet train debuts

MATSUYAMA, Japan - A tape-cutting ceremony is held on March 15, 2014, at JR Uwajima Station in the city of Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture, to mark the start of Shikoku Railway Co.'s operation of a sightseeing train that resembles the 0 series Shinkansen bullet trains. The one-car train runs at a maximum speed of 85 kilometers per hour.

                    New tram starts operating north of Tokyo

                    UTSUNOMIYA, Japan, Aug. 26 Kyodo - A light rail transit train carrying children and others runs through Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, after a ceremony commemorating the start of the service is held at JR Utsunomiya Station on Aug. 26, 2023.                       New train for Yamagata Shinkansen Line

                      A new shinkansen train, the E8 series, is being unloaded from a vessel at a port in the Miyagi Prefecture city of Sendai, northeastern Japan, on Jan. 29, 2023. The train will be introduced on the Yamagata Shinkansen Line in the spring of 2024, replacing the E3 series and raising the maximum speed of the service from the current 275 kilometers per hour to 300 km.
