Tsunami alert after Chile quake
ONAGAWA, Japan - Firefighters keep watch on the ocean on a hill in Onagawa, Miyagi Prefecture, at 5:36 a.m. on April 3, 2014, around the time when a tsunami was expected to arrive. A tsunami of up to 40 centimeters was observed in the early morning that day at a port on the Pacific coast of northeastern Japan's Iwate Prefecture following a magnitude 8.2 quake that hit Chile on April 1, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
