Right to collective self-defense
TOKYO, Japan - Yosuke Isozaki, a special adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, is interviewed by Kyodo News in Tokyo on April 16, 2014. Isozaki said the government will seek to allow the Self-Defense Forces to respond to armed attacks on allies with "close ties" to Japan, in the event Japan reinterprets the Constitution to allow the country to exercise the right to collective self-defense.
