Japan starts coastal research whaling in Pacific
ISHINOMAKI, Japan - Researchers examine a minke whale at Ayukawa port in the northeastern Japanese city of Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, on April 26, 2014, after four Japanese research whaling ships returned from a day hunt for minke whales off the prefecture. The ships will operate until June 11 to take up to 51 minke whales from coastal waters.
