Japan launches land observing satellite
TANEGASHIMA, Japan - Japan's H-2A rocket carrying the land observing satellite Daichi-2 lifts off from Tanegashima Space Center in the southwestern prefecture of Kagoshima on May 24, 2014. The Daichi-2, which will be able to provide more accurate land surface information regardless of day or night and weather, was put into orbit 16 minutes after the rocket launch.
