Kurobe Dam in Toyama Pref. begins water release
TOYAMA, Japan - Kurobe Dam in the town of Tateyama, Toyama Prefecture, boasting the highest dam wall in Japan at 186 meters, begins its summer water discharge on June 26, 2014. A rainbow is seen over a cloud of spray. The water release is conducted every day through Oct. 15 to maintain the view around the Kurobe River where the amount of water flow decreases during summer.
